8th Grade Graduation

Wildcat Family,

8th Grade graduation has been scheduled for May 22nd at 7 P.M. With COVID-19, we will be making some changes to how this ceremony is celebrated. Graduation will take place as a drive-thru. As a school district, we want to celebrate this accomplishment and follow proper social distancing guidelines.

At 6:30 P.M on May 22nd, we ask that if you plan to participate that you are parked in the student parking lot behind the high school. Mr. Hyde will be there to put the vehicles into alphabetical order and line everyone up in the bus lane. Once graduation starts, we will lead the parade to the front of the school where the junior high teachers will be to hand out the diploma. Once the diploma is handed out, you are free to go. We will have a microphone to announce the student as they drive up to the front. Our city police will be at the end of the road to ensure traffic does not come through at that time to provide picture opportunities.

It is encouraged for families to be in the vehicle with your student, or to line the street in front of the high school to watch the diploma be received. We ask that social distancing is maintained at this point. If you want to decorate your vehicle to add to the celebration, that will be acceptable.

We ask that if you plan to watch graduation, that you park in the parking lot across from the school, the junior high parking lot, or the parking lot on the east side of the school. We would like no cars to be parked on College Street on the school side to ensure that we can drive down that side of the street freely.

Thank you for your patience on this matter, and if there are any further questions, please email Mr. Hyde at phyde@greenfieldr4.org or call the high school office, 417-637-5321.
