Friday, February 7th, the Junior High and High School held its 2nd quarter awards assembly. The honors awarded were: A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, January Students of the Month, and the Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.

Thirty-five students were honored with being on the A/B Honor Roll, fourteen students on A Honor Roll, and twenty-nine students who had perfect attendance for the 2nd quarter. Additionally, the attendance percentage for the Junior High and High School building during 2nd quarter was 93.45%.

January Student of the Month for the Junior High was Phillip Cooper and the High School Student of the Month was Jimmy O’Neal. Congratulations to both students on their hard work in the classroom and citizenship within our school. Both awards are sponsored by two local businesses, Live Well Fitness Center and Simmons Bank. Junior high students receiving this award are placed in a drawing at the end of the school year for a free Fitbit and receive a free month membership to the Live Well Fitness Center gym. High School students are placed in a drawing for a free laptop at the end of the year awards assembly.

The final award was presented by Greenfield Chamber of Commerce President, Kim Rhodes. Each school year, the Chamber of Commerce recognizes a teacher that is an excellent educator, involves the community within their classroom, and has student participation within the community. This year’s recipient is Mrs. Jennifer Jones. Mrs. Jones teaches K-12 art. Throughout the last year, she has created the Art Club, had students paint business windows during Homecoming week and the holiday season, created a district wide art show, and entered students in various art competitions throughout the state. Congratulations to Mrs. Jones on her prestigious award!
