Substitute Teachers Needed for 2020-2021 School Year

The Greenfield R-IV School District is actively seeking substitute teachers for the 2020-2021 school year.   Applicants with a substitute teaching certificate issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and a clean background check are eligible to be employed as a substitute teacher.

The requirement for applicants to have 60 college hours has been waived for the current school year, as the Missouri State Board of Education has approved an alternative route for individuals to obtain a substitute certificate of license to substitute teach in Missouri.

The additional path to obtain a substitute teaching certificate was approved the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) after consulting with education groups in an attempt to address the shortage of substitute teachers throughout the state.

Anyone who is interested in obtaining a substitute teaching certificate should visit the DESE website, substitute teacher page, for additional information:

Applicants looking for information on how to obtain a substitute certificate without having  60 college credit hours completed should visit the Frontline Substitute Teacher Training webpage at:

Please call the district office at 417-637-5321 if you have any additional questions regarding substitute teaching with Greenfield Schools.
