Greenfield Junior High faces New Opponents

Greenfield Junior Volleyball has many new teams on their fall schedule this year. Many are opponents that are being faced for the first time and with that brings new challenges. These teams include Strafford, Clever, Bolivar and Joplin.

While the schedule seems possibly daunting, the Junior Volley Cats have responded well with a respectable record of 4 wins and 5 losses. Most losses have been highly competitive and ones in which the Junior Cats were fighting until the very end.

Junior High Volleyball coach Loganne Hickman has spoke highly of the players and the schedule that they have played this year. She claims the biggest adjustment has been the girls learning to play every serve and return. "In the past we have played teams that if we pass, set, and hit, the ball doesn't normally come back," states Coach Hickman. "Now we have teams where there are long volleys of this style of play and it is good for our girls."

The Junior Lady Cats season is coming to an end and the schedule does not lighten up. The girls will play Lockwood tonight, participate in the Buffalo Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 6th, and finish the season at Stockton next Thursday, Oct. 11th.
