The 2022-23 Lady Wildcats Basketball team concluded the season on February 28, 2023. The Lady Wildcats ended with a 21-6 record, boasting the highest single season win percentage for the girls program in the last 15+ years.  Greenfield participated in three highly competitive tournaments this season and earned trophy finishes in each. Highlights of tournament play were placing 5th out of 16 teams in the coveted and long standing Walnut Grove Holiday Classic, and knocking off state ranked host Golden City in their own 67th Annual Golden City Tournament. In post season play, the Lady Wildcats earned a 2 seed in the Class 1 District Tournament. Following their high seed first round bye, Greenfield beat Dadeville (69 - 40) in the semi-final round. Following Dadeville, the Lady Wildcats faced 1 seed Walnut Grove in the District Championship game. Going into the game, Walnut Grove would be defending their 12x consecutive district champion status. With a tall order stacked against them, the Lady Wildcats rose to the occasion. Greenfield defeated Walnut Grove in the Class 1 District Championship (50 - 39) in a packed gym at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. Earning a spot to move beyond Districts, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Mountain View, MO to face the Chadwick Lady Cardinals in State Sectionals. In a vivacious game, in front of a sea of blue and red spectators, the Lady Wildcats fell just shy against the Lady Cardinals. Greenfield lost 40 - 46. The State Sectional loss concluded the season. The Lady Wildcat players earned the respect of the teams they played against this year and made their mark in the Lady Wildcat basketball program.
