On March 29, 2023, Marlie Wright upped her status from recruit to signee as she sat down to initial her letter of intent to attend and play basketball at Avila University. Marlie Wright, senior at Greenfield High School, opted to pursue furthering her athletic career at the collegiate level and, after much deliberation and speaking with coaches, decided Avila University as an exemplary fit. 

Avila University, home of the Eagles, is located in Kansas City, Missouri and is part of the Kansas Collegiate Athletics Conference. The KCAC is part of the NAIA. (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics)

Marlie concluded her high school athletic career decorated with many earned achievements.

District Player of the Year -  2 years, 1st Team All-District - 4 Years, MBCA All-Area - 3 Years, All-State Selection - 1 Year, Greenfield Lady Wildcat all time scoring leader with a career total of 1,751 points, Chevy Dealers of the Ozarks Player of the Week, numerous All-Tournament teams, 4 year starter, 4 year letter earner, and Senior captain.

Marlie's head coach, Loganne Hickman, shared the following: "Over the last 6 years I have learned that Marlie is not only an outstanding athlete, but person. She pursues life head on with heart, grit, and is the epitome of a go-getter. I see her excelling at the next level and I am happy to see her fulfill a goal and take this next step. Work hard and have fun always, Marlie!"
