Superintendent Update

Dear Greenfield Community,

I am truly honored to have the opportunity to serve our great community for another year as your superintendent of schools.  I want to welcome everyone back for another great year for the Greenfield Wildcats and share some information with you about our switch to a four-day school week that will guarantee a smooth start to the school year.

Greenfield is now 1 of 61 schools in the state of Missouri that are attending school four-days a week, instead of the traditional five-day schedule.  Switching to four-day weeks have resulted in new start and release times for our students.  Students attending the Elementary School will start their day at 8:00 am and end at 3:45 pm, while students attending JH/HS will start at 8:06 am and end their day at 3:51.  Breakfast will be served in both buildings, beginning at 7:30 am and ending at 8:00 am.

With this change, I have had many questions about what time students need to arrive.  Students will not be considered tardy unless they arrive after the start time for their building. For example, if a student does not plan on eating breakfast at the elementary school, they are not required to arrive when the doors open at 7:30 am and will not be considered late if they check in with the office before 8:00 am.  A student in the JH/HS will not be counted tardy unless they fail to be in their first class by 8:06 am.  If your student does intend on eating breakfast, be sure they arrive at school with enough time to eat breakfast without having to rush to their first class.

In closing, if you did not have a chance last year to visit our district website, be sure check it out at  In addition to the website, our district has a mobile app that can be found on the App Store and Google Play.  Both the website and the mobile app will include the most up to date information regarding the Greenfield R-IV School District. Visit us on Facebook, Twitter, on our website or download our app to follow what is happening in Wildcat Nation!

We look forward to working with you and your children and thank you for the continued support that you provide our school district.
