Fourteen students competed in the 2025 Pitt State Math Relays on Tuesday, April 8th. The students competing were: Cailey Boyd, Owen Daniel, Briar Wallen, Chloe Jones, Hannah Hughes, Caleb Strieter, Jaxan Marshall, Jaxin Knotts, Austin Pickett, Sabrina Smith, Devin Steeley, Joseph Land, Andrew Fowler, and Isaiah Benson.
This was the first time these students had competed in a math relay competition. They competed against 23 other schools from both Missouri and Kansas and brought home several awards.
Team events:
Calculator Team (Joseph, Andrew F., Devin, & Isaiah) tied for 5th place
Algebraic Word Problems Team (Cailey, Owen, Caleb, & Jaxin) earned 6th place
Individual events:
Algebraic Equations and Inequalities - Owen tied for 7th place
Algebraic Simplifications - Caleb got 3rd place
Geometry - Joseph tied for 7th
Programming - Isaiah placed 2nd and Joseph placed 3rd
Joseph, Isaiah, and Caleb all received medals for finishing in the top 3.
