This weekend, four Greenfield Band students had the opportunity to participate in the Southwest Missouri Music Educators Association's District and Conference honor bands. The District Band is an auditioned group, and the Conference Band is a group filled based on band director nomination and recommendation. Each band was made up of around 100 students from class 1 through 5 schools.
Senior Caleb Strieter auditioned in November and earned 5th chair in the District band and then earned All-State honorable mention honors at auditions held in December, auditioning against the best musicians from around the state, regardless of class.
Senior Hunter Hensley, sophomore Seth Bullinger, and freshman Ezabella Vesco all earned chairs in the Conference Band, getting experience playing high-level music with a large band.
