Public Notice September 14, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Greenfield R-IV personnel received information today, Monday, September 14th, that there have been two positive Covid-19 tests in our JH/HS building.  Discussion with the Dade County Health Department is ongoing to implement contact tracing and for any additional guidance needed regarding the situation.

Beginning Tuesday, September 15th, the Greenfield R-IV School District will be moving to the yellow stage of the district’s Covid-19 Re-Entry Plan.  Under the yellow stage, all green stage precautions and protocols will remain in place.  In addition to those precautions and protocols, yellow will require the following:

1- Mandatory masks for 7-12 students during transition times, high traffic, and common areas where social distancing cannot be maintained.

2- Mandatory temperature checks for all students prior to entering district buildings each morning or taking their seat on the bus.

3- Mandatory temperature checks for all staff prior to entering district buildings each morning.

4- Masks will be mandatory on the school bus for all students

Under the yellow stage, masks will not be mandatory at the Elementary School, but are recommended.  Mask will be provided to all students who do not have masks when boarding district transportation or any student grades 7-12 that do not have a mask.  Students at the Elementary School will be provided masks upon request.

This will be a temporary step which will be evaluated regularly by administration and the board of education.

Sincerely,

Chris Kell

Superintendent
