March 18, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is the goal of the Greenfield R-IV School District to provide timely, up to date information regarding the COVID-19 virus. It is our priority to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, provide meals to students, and to provide educational activities to our students while school is closed. Below is updated information related to these goals.
1. The custodial and maintenance staff continue to work diligently to clean and disinfect buildings. They are also conducting preventative maintenance throughout the district to ensure facilities are ready once school is re-opened.
2. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for students beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020. Times for pick up will be from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm daily at the circle drive behind the elementary school building (near the playground). Meals will be similar to sacked lunches served during summer school or on past field trips. Each student will receive lunch for the day and breakfast for the following day. All meals will be picked and consumed at home. District cafeterias will not be open. The elementary school will be the location of meal pick up for all grades K-12.
3. For the remainder of closure, our campuses are completely closed to all staff, students, and others not requested by administrative personnel. We will be making decisions in the coming days, about what, if any, access may be allowed in the coming weeks.
4. We are working on a plan to provide students work packets that will be available to be picked up from the school during the week of March 24-27. We are finalizing these plans so wait for additional information prior to stopping by or calling the school.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we get through this difficult situation.
Sincerely,
Chris Kell
Superintendent
