Girls Basketball

The Greenfield Lady Wildcat basketball team has started off an exciting season. Coach Loganne Hickman anticipates the season by stating, “Every game on our schedule this year is going to be a big one. We will be facing some rebuilding in some areas due to graduation and injuries. Coming out of last season, I see our most look-forward-to games being Diamond and College Heights. College Heights for obvious reasons as that was the match-up for the district championship game last year. The game was full of emotion and some great basketball. I know my girls will still have some feelings when we meet up with them again this year. I say Diamond as well because that was a team that we just didn't get past last year. Diamond always seemed to slip by us and got us by 1 point in the Golden City Tourney championship game. I know my kids would like to settle that!”

Returning to the court this year are some stand-out players.  Marlie Wright ended the 2020-2021 season on pace to hit 1000 points toward the latter half of the 2021-2022 season.   “Trista Torres is a player who isn’t afraid to drive the paint and bump with the bigs on her way to the rim,” says Coach Hickman.  Jasmine Feezelle plays a big role in keeping other teams off the boards for Greenfield.  Tatum Torres will be missed this season as she recovers from a torn ACL in the opening varsity volleyball jamboree this year.  With some phenomenal players returning and some challenges to overcome, this season is sure to be full of emotion and excitement!
