Greenfield FBLA Launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser to Raise Money for National Convention
Greenfield FBLA is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser to raise funds for National Convention in Orlando and other upcoming FBLA experiences. Greenfield FBLA will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit our future leaders with travel expenses expected for upcoming National Conventions. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes at Greenfield High School. If you have connections with a student in Greenfield Schools, there is currently a class contest until February 15 to see which class can collect the most shoes with the winning class earning a pizza party. On February 18 from noon to 2 p.m., FBLA members will be hosting a shoe drop off and bake sale in the commons area of the high school, enter the front doors of the building and you will see us.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school.
"We are excited about our shoe drive," said Joel Hughes, Greenfield FBLA president. "We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us. By doing so, we raise money for our high school students who only go to Nationals if their FBLA project ranks among the very best of Missouri students, and we have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It's a win-win for everyone.”
By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the Greenfield FBLA, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives around the world.
We used our FBLA funds (along with generous donations from Russell Abstract and Title, KB Mechanical Services LLC, Muncy’s Supermarket, Stockton Lake Outfitters, Shelter Insurance- Sean Holman, Farmers Mutual-Sherri Wise, Greenfield Alumni, Greenfield teachers, and W&B ’74) last year to send our computer science team to Atlanta. This year, nationals will be held in Orlando; hopefully students will make it to nationals again. After looking at various options, we decided to try a shoe drive to raise funds. By doing this, we aren’t asking anybody to buy anything, but we are asking everyone to clean out their closets to help fund our FBLA.

The Elementary Wildcats got some great pictures in their T-shirts today!
All Greenfield Elementary students were gifted a Wildcat T-shirt today by a Greenfield graduate.
Tuesday, February 6, our high school boys’ Wildcats will be playing at 6 pm. Any student that wears their new shirt to the game will get in free.

The NED show assembly had to be rescheduled again because the presenter was sick. It is scheduled for February 27th. The yoyo's that were on sale will still be available for purchase until February 28th. Thank you for your support.
Super Bowl Spirit Week days below!
Elementary students participated in a dental screening today. They were sent home with a bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss.
If they have any pressing dental concerns that need to be addressed, there will be a note included in that bag.
Only students who had written consent for Fluoride treatment, received that today.

The basketball games tonight in Everton will be varsity only. The girls varsity game will start at 5:30 followed by the boys varsity.

Wildcat Baseball will be selling hats, shirts, and hoodies in preparation for baseball season. Proceeds will be used to offset the cost of the team's hat this year. All can be found at the URL below. Please show your support and come cheer on our Wildcats this spring.

The JH boys basketball game tonight will be at the middle school, 103 N Public Ave, Clever, MO 65631. The entrance and gym are on the south south end of the building on Inman St.
Lady Wildcat Softball Fundraiser Luncheon coming up!
Friday at Marion C. Early in Morrisville the games will start at 5:30. There will be a half boys "C" game followed by JV boys, Girls Varsity, and Boys Varsity. This will also be their homecoming game with the crowning after the boys varsity game.
Miles for Smiles Mobile Dental Unit will be visiting our schools (PreK-12th grade) on the following dates- February 29th, March 1st, March 5th, and 6th.

The start time for the junior high basketball games tonight has been moved up to 5:00. They will still be played at the Elementary.
Due to winter weather moving in tonight, Greenfield R-IV will not run the Vo-Tech bus to the Lamar Career and Technical Center, Monday, January 22nd. Students who attend Vo-Tech in Lamar will not attend class on Monday.

Basketball reschedule update:
The games against Hume and courtwarming have been rescheduled for Friday 2/9.
The girls basketball game against Wheatland originally scheduled for Friday 2/9 has been rescheduled for Monday 2/5.
The games against Lighthouse from Tuesday 1/16 have been rescheduled for Monday 1/22 at Evangel University at 6pm.
The JH boys game against Lockwood from Tuesday 1/16 has been rescheduled for Wednesday 2/7.
