Today was Crazy Hair and Crazy Sock Day at Greenfield Elementary. This week students are showing school spirit for this Friday's Courtwarming! Don't forget tomorrow, Thursday is Pajama Day and Friday is WildCat Day, wear anything with a Wildcat on it.

Students in the Little Cat Room began a unit about the Postman and mailing letters. Today, we read about many different types of mail, letters, cards and advertisements. We wrote our own letter to a friend in our classroom, addressed the envelope and placed stamps on it. (Thank you, Ms. Reid) Once our letter was ready, we walked to the office to see Ms. Rachel. Ms. Rachel sees the postman everyday, and she said she would give our letter to him so that he could deliver it to our friend. We also wrote letters to each other that we mailed in our classroom mailbox to be delivered to friends here at school. This was a really fun activity!

The Little Cat room celebrated 100 days of school today!! We marched 100 steps! Whew! That took a long time. We painted our feet and walked 100 feet. We made 100 day sunglasses by decorating them with stickers. Our snack was a 100 Day Party Cake. It was a very exciting day!! We are 100 days smarter today.

Today, Greenfield Elementary students celebrated the 100th Day of School for the 2018-19 school year. Some students decorated t-shirts with 100 of something on them. Pennies, gumballs, googly eyes and stars were used to help us celebrate. It's hard to believe we are over half way done for the year. The next few months are very important as we continue to prepare our students for moving on to the next grade level and MAP testing. Please continue to encourage and support your child to do their very best each day!

We Have A Dream
Last week, in the Little Cat room, students were learning about Martin Luther King. Jr. They learned he was a famous man who told everyone that he had a dream that all people would be friends. They drew a self portrait with clouds to show everyone that we have a dream too!

Tips for Parents from the School Health Office

The pre-school playground received a new tree last Friday. The students were so excited to watch the truck with the tree and machinery to plant the new tree pull in. We watched all morning as they measured and dug a hole. We were able to see them set the new tree and saw the big ball of roots. Our tree is very tall and strong. We are so excited for the shade it will provide us!! Thank you Greenfield Administration, Board of Education and Pinewood Nursery!!!

Our new unit in the Little Cat room is about Snow and Snowmen!!! We read, The Snowy Day, and discovered a lot of fun things to do in the snow. We will learn about the letter S, it’s sound, words that start with S, and how to write it. This morning lots of giggles, squeals and WOWS were heard as we made our own snow and played with it!!!! Snow in the classroom and sunshine on the playground!!!! This was a great Monday!
